Short answer

There are many ways to connect to your Acton IV speaker, both wirelessly and using cables.

Pairing with a Bluetooth device

Acton IV can connect to 2 Bluetooth devices at a time and remembers up to 8 previously paired devices. The speaker will try to reconnect with the last connected devices when Bluetooth source is selected.

  1. Use the Source selector button to select Bluetooth.

  2. Push the Source selector button for 2 seconds until the Bluetooth source LED turns to a slow pulse.

  3. Select ACTON IV from your audio device's Bluetooth list.

Connecting to the AUX input

  1. Connect a lead with a 3.5 mm stereo jack to AUX IN on the bottom of the speaker.

  2. Connect the other end of the lead to the audio output on your audio source.

  3. Use the source selector button to select AUX. Note: Audio leads are not included.

Connecting to the RCA inputs

Plug in an audio device such as a turntable or CD player to Acton IV via an audio lead with RCA connectors. Note: The turntable must be equipped with an RIAA amplifier or connected via separate preamplifier. Audio lead and RIAA amplifier are not included.

  1. Connect a lead with RCA jacks to RCA IN on the bottom of the speaker.

  2. Connect the other end of the lead to the output on your audio source.

  3. Use the source selector button to select RCA.

Connecting to a Marshall music streaming hub

Multiple Marshall speakers can connect to a Heddon music streaming hub to play in sync. Go to the Marshall app and follow the in-app instructions to connect the speaker or follow the instructions below.

  1. Make sure the Heddon music streaming hub is configured correctly.

  2. Push the button on the Heddon for 3 seconds, until the red LED on the front starts pulsing. The hub is now in setup mode for 3 minutes.

  3. Turn on the speakers and set them to more than mid volume.

  4. Push and hold the M-button on the speaker for 4 seconds, until you hear a success sound.

  5. Start playing music on your streaming app. Select Heddon as the audio output using AirPlay, Cast, or Connect.

  6. Adjust the volume or EQ settings on your speaker to find the right balance.

  1. Push the M-button to play a recommendation based on your listening taste.

  2. Push the M-button again for the next recommendation made just for you. To use Spotify Tap, make sure your Spotify app is up to date.
