Gallus embody youthful anticipation and the restless energy of indie-punk, blending the vitality of Sports Team with the wit of Yard Act and the introspection of Fontaines D.C. Born in a Glasgow pub, cousins Paul and Eamon Ewins formed the band with Barry Dolan despite limited musical experience. The addition of guitarist Gianluca Bernacchi and bassist Matt McGoldrick helped shape the line-up and sound that drive Gallus’s energetic, indie-punk identity.
Known for their electrifying live shows, Gallus have supported Biffy Clyro, played internationally renowned festivals and showcase stages, and won Best Rock/Alternative at the 2022 Scottish Alternative Music Awards. Their debut album, We Don’t Like The People We’ve Become, explored the anxieties of growing up in a post-crisis world with humour and energy. Now, the band are gearing up to release their second album, Life Is Bliss, produced and mixed by Blair Crichton of Dead Pony. The album explores themes of anxiety, stagnation, disappearing communities and the changing face of Glasgow, pairing deeply personal struggles with sharp observations on the systems and decisions that shape everyday life. Singles like ‘Sick Bastards’ and their reimagining of The Proclaimers’ ‘Letter From America’, a celebration of Scottish identity released ahead of the 2026 World Cup, showcase the band’s ability to turn frustration, humour and heart into anthems built for the stage.
