Formed in 2022 in Bristol, Knives is a melting pot of inspiration and innovation, pushing and pulling between different lived experiences and musical journeys. From punishing bouts of hardcore fury to gritty flourishes of post-punk intensity, and loose strands of quick-witted alt-rock to shimmering waves of free-flowing experimental jazz, the sextet have proclaimed that they leave no stone unturned. Unafraid of leaping over boundaries, they are committed to covering previously uncharted ground.
With their debut album GLITTER, their first release through Marshall Records, Knives have fine-tuned their chaos into something truly spectacular, marking a bold new chapter for the band. The album serves as a manifesto of mayhem with bile-drenched musings on everything from rotten experiences with evil-eyed landlords to combatting toxic masculinity, standing up for marginalised voices and putting empathy and understanding at the forefront. Set to challenge boundaries and inspire connection, GLITTER is an unmissable statement from a group determined to leave their mark.
Following GLITTER, their EP REGLITTER I includes reworked tracks from their debut album along with collaborations featuring Carson Pace (The Callous Daoboys), Death Goals, chest., and C.A. Francis (DITZ). Its counterpart, REGLITTER II, will follow in spring 2026.
