Blondies(opens in a new window) began as a tiny 70-capacity spot in Clapton, but it didn't take long to become a fixture in London's alternative music scene. Born from the vision of two Australian sisters who live for music, motorbikes and the buzz of a live show, Blondies was built as the bar they always wanted to find. These days, the original venue still pulses with weekly gigs and DJ nights, drawing in a crowd united by a shared love of music and the moments that come with it.

Blondies has also established a reputation for The K!Pit, its collaboration with Kerrang! that has seen some of the world's biggest bands squeeze onto one of the world's smallest stages. Machine Head, Mastodon and Bullet For My Valentine have all unleashed their sound here, turning Blondies into a rare crossroads where grassroots energy meets rock royalty. 

The Blondies story didn't stop there. In 2023, they opened Blondies Taproom in Leyton, complete with their own brewery. The Taproom has quickly become a home for live music and all sorts of events, hosting bands like Green Lung, Cancer Bats and DZ Deathrays, as well as skate jams, beer festivals and film nights. It's a space built for creativity, connection and community. 

Marshall's partnership with Blondies grew through a shared connection to skate culture, reflecting the values that both brands have long championed. As part of the partnership, Marshall supports the venue's popular Skate Jams by funding the skate ramp hire, helping Blondies create free, inclusive events that bring together skaters, music fans and the local community. As the day rolls into the evening, the venue comes alive with performances from both emerging and established bands, creating an event that celebrates music, creativity and community for all ages.

Marshall also supports both Blondies venues with full backline equipment, helping the team build a stronger foundation for live music. At the Taproom, where equipment was previously hired for every show, having access to a dedicated backline has made it possible to offer more competitive deals to artists and bring more live performances to the venue. Marshall amps and a NATAL drum kit are also serviced free of charge by the team in Bletchley, helping the venue avoid ongoing maintenance and replacement costs while ensuring artists always have access to reliable professional equipment. 

Beyond the stage, Marshall has also provided a Bromley 750 party speaker for outdoor events at the brewery, helping Blondies create an even better atmosphere for Skate Jams and other community events. 

The partnership has also opened the door for artists, fans and the wider music industry to come together. When Marshall Records celebrated its 10-year milestone, they marked the occasion at Blondies, packing the Taproom with over 500 people for a day of live music, connection and celebration. Cancer Bats, Daytime TV, Big Truck and Ashaine White all took to the stage, making it a performance to remember. 

For Blondies, this support has helped both venues remain faithful to their roots and champion independent artists and communities. By backing venues like Blondies, Marshall is helping independent live music spaces grow stronger, supporting local communities, giving artists the equipment they need and creating more opportunities for people to discover live music up close.
