First things first: the Sound Character knob is not a volume or gain control. Instead, it works alongside the Volume knob to fine-tune both the tonal profile and loudness of your sound. 

The Character control ranges from 1 to 13, with a progressive response at each step. As you turn the dial, the EQ curve, compression, and harmonic content of the signal gradually alters. The result? A seamless shift from clean and natural to bold, bass-heavy, and full-throttle distortion - ending in what we call Party Mode. 

The Character Range – Three Key Zones:

Step 1–3: Flat Mode

Volume: 1–4 • Character: 1–3 

The flat EQ means that the sound coming from the speaker is very close to the original recorded sound. This is very useful when playing old shellac records or wanting to hear the original sound. Intended for smaller rooms.

Step 4–8: Dynamic Loudness Mode

Volume: 4–12 • Character: 4–8 

This is where things start to move. Expect a progressive enhancement in bass response, wider dynamics, and greater energy. The sound becomes more immersive. Perfect for medium-sized spaces or outdoor use where presence and punch matter.

Step 9–13: Party Mode

Volume: 9–12 • Character: 9–13 

Here, the system pushes its full sonic potential. You’re tapping into maximum character compression and a custom EQ curve optimized for high-volume playback. The result is a bold, refined sound that holds together even at extreme levels. Tailored for large rooms, outdoor gatherings, and any moment that demands the unmistakable Marshall edge. 

The Light button allows you to toggle between three built-in light show presets. Each offering a distinct visual pattern synced to your audio. If you prefer a more minimal experience, you can also switch the light show off entirely. At this stage, custom light configurations are not supported, preset selection only.

Keep in mind, the lights do consume a significant amount of battery power, so turning them off can help extend playtime.

Bromley comes with a replaceable battery, pre-installed right out of the box. The battery can be removed and charged separately and also functions as a power bank to charge external devices.

The speaker can operate directly from the included mains cable, even if the battery is not inserted. When connected to mains power with the battery installed, the system will simultaneously charge the battery while running the speaker.

Under typical use conditions, you can expect 40+ hours of playtime at volume step 5 with the light show turned off. Actual runtime will vary depending on several factors, including volume level, light show activity, music type, sound character settings, and the acoustic environment.

Higher volumes and active light shows will naturally reduce battery life.

Yes - the Bromley 750 is equipped with a tripod mount located on the underside of the speaker, allowing it to be placed on a standard speaker stand. 

When mounting, always ensure the stand is securely fastened and placed on stable, level ground to maintain safe operation during use.

The Bromley 750 is primarily designed as a party speaker, built to deliver powerful, full-range sound for music and gatherings. 

That said, it features inputs for mic and instruments. However, if you want to plug in an electric guitar, you’ll need to use a preamp or pedal before connecting, as the Bromley doesn’t have a dedicated guitar amp circuit.
