Bohan Phoenix
Finding a voice
Based in Brooklyn, but with musical collaborations that span the globe, Bohan’s music is often a reflection of feeling “too foreign for here, too foreign for home”. He uses his platform to campaign for better support in his community, and those who are made to feel that they don’t belong.
A place called home
Home can mean a lot of things. Born in China, raised since the age of 11 in the US, Bohan Phoenix credits rap music as his English language teacher. His musical influences are both American and Chinese, but the music itself has proved to have a far wider appeal.
Breaking out
Feeling like an outsider in a country you’ve lived in your whole life, and not belonging in the place you were born, is a common theme in Bohan’s music. Thanks to his unique storytelling, Bohan is now enjoying global success and raps in both English and Mandarin. Maybe never staying in one place isn’t such a bad thing.
Emberton III
Dust and dirt doesn’t bother Emberton III. With 32+ hours of wireless playtime, it’s never going to cut out in the middle of one of Bohan’s tracks.
