Short answer

Disconnect all cables and turn the speaker off. Place it on a soft, lint-free towel in a well-lit, clean and clutter-free area. Download the spare part instructions for step-by-step images.

REPLACING THE CARRYING HANDLE

  1. Pull the ends of the carrying handle over the buttons on the side of the speaker to remove it.

  2. Push the ends of the new carrying handle over the buttons.

  3. Make sure the carrying handle is secured to the speaker before using it.

  4. Make sure to dispose of the old carrying handle in a correct manner.

REPLACING THE SILICONE SLEEVE

Before starting the procedure, make sure that you are working in a well-lit, clean and clutter free area. All cables should be disconnected and the speaker powered off. Place the speaker on a soft lint-free towel while working to protect it and you working surface.

REMOVING THE SILICONE SLEEVE

Remove the carrying handle before removing the silicon sleeve.

  1. Start by peeling open the silicone around the edges of the front and the rear grille.

  2. Work slowly to pull and slide the silicone sleeve off the speaker.

ATTACHING THE SILICONE SLEEVE

  1. Make sure that the silicone sleeve is oriented correctly, aligning the holes on the sleeve with the speaker features.

  2. Gently stretch and slide the silicone sleeve on the speaker. Note: Be careful not to damage the speaker or the sleeve.

  3. Push on the sleeve around the top panel, USB-C port, grilles, and buttons to snap it in place.

  4. Make sure to recycle the old silicone sleeve in a correct manner.

REPLACING THE FRONT OR BACK GRILLE

Before starting the procedure, make sure that you are working in a well-lit, clean and clutter free area. All cables should be disconnected and the speaker powered off. You will need a flathead screwdriver to replace the grille. Place the speaker on a soft lint-free towel while working to protect it and your working surface.

Note: Removing the grille will expose the speaker driver membrane. Do not touch the membrane as it may damage the driver.

REMOVING THE SILICONE SLEEVE

  1. Remove the carrying handle before removing the silicone sleeve.

  2. Start by peeling open the silicone around the edges of the front and the rear grille.

  3. Work slowly to pull and slide the silicone sleeve off the speaker.

REMOVING THE OLD GRILLE

  1. Use a flathead screwdriver to gently pry open the grille starting from the right side as shown in the figure below.

  2. Continue with prying around the grille until it comes completely loose.

  3. Carefully detach and remove the grille.

ATTACHING THE NEW GRILLE

  1. Make sure that the grille is correctly oriented and place it on the speaker.

  2. Push the grille in place then push on its edges to secure it in place.

ATTACHING THE SILICONE SLEEVE

  1. Make sure that the silicone sleeve is oriented correctly, aligning the holes on the sleeve with the speaker features.

  2. Gently stretch and slide the silicone sleeve on the speaker. Note: Be careful not to damage the speaker or the sleeve.

  3. Push on the sleeve around the top panel, USB-C port, grilles, and buttons to snap it in place.

  4. Make sure to recycle the old grille sleeve in a correct manner.

REPLACING THE BATTERY

Before starting the procedure, make sure that you are working in a well-lit, clean and clutter free area. All leads should be disconnected and the speaker powered off. Place the speaker on a soft lint-free towel while working to protect it and your working surface. It is good practice to store screws and small parts in cups to prevent losing them. You will need a Phillips screwdriver, size 2 (PH2) to open the battery hatch.

Warning: Only replace the battery with a Stockwell III spare part battery from marshall.com or an equivalent type.

REMOVING THE SILICONE SLEEVE

  1. Remove the carrying handle before removing the silicone sleeve.

  2. Start by peeling open the silicone around the edges of the front and the rear grille.

  3. Work slowly to pull and slide the silicone sleeve off the speaker.

OPENING THE BATTERY HATCH

  1. Turn the speaker on its side and place it on a soft lint-free towel to protect the speaker and working surface.

  2. Use a PH2 screwdriver to remove the 4 screws securing the battery hatch and then open the hatch.

REMOVING THE OLD BATTERY

  1. Gently lift the top edge of the battery according to the figure below to access the battery connector. Note: Do not pull on the battery cable.

  2. Push on the battery connector tab to disconnect it.

  3. Remove the battery.

INSTALLING THE NEW BATTERY

  1. Unpack the battery.

  2. Connect the battery to the battery connecter on the speaker. Make sure the connector clicks properly in place.

  3. Fold back the battery into the battery compartment.

CLOSING THE BATTERY HATCH

  1. Place the battery hatch in position and tighten the 4 screws using a PH2 screwdriver to secure the hatch.

  1. Make sure that the silicone sleeve is oriented correctly, aligning the holes on the sleeve with the speaker features.

  2. Gently stretch and slide the silicone sleeve on the speaker. Note: Be careful not to damage the speaker or the sleeve.

  3. Push on the sleeve around the top panel, USB-C port, grilles, and buttons to snap it in place.

RECYCLING THE OLD BATTERY

  1. Please recycle your old battery and packaging material in the correct manner.

  2. Cover the battery connector with adhesive tape to prevent short circuit.

  3. Put the old battery in a clear plastic bag or the packaging for the new battery and leave it at a battery recycling point.

WARNING

  • Damaged lithium batteries have an increased fire and explosion risk.

  • Do not puncture, bend, or crush the battery pouch or cell.

  • Do not ship damaged batteries by post or deposit them in unmonitored recycle bins.

  • If the battery is swollen, hot, or leaking, quickly place it on a non-flammable container (ceramic plate, sand, or kitty litter in a metal box).

  • Take the battery to a staffed recycling centre as soon as possible.
